Situated at the head of the majestic Great Langdale Valley and guarded by the dominating Langdale Pikes, this campsite is a walker's and climber's dream come true.
We have an exceptionally well stocked shop selling the following: Groceries - milk, bread, bacon, tinned foods, pasta, rice etc.,Frozen foods - burgers, sausages, vegetarian sausages etc. Chocolate, sweets, ice cream, biscuits. Take away hot food and drink. Fuel - full range of gas from small canisters to 15kg refillable, Meths and Coleman fuel. Maps, guide books, hats, gloves. Toiletries and medicines. Toys, games, gifts, postcards & stamps. Camping & walking accessories
No booking - first come, first served. There is usually no problem getting on - just turn up. Bank Holidays - we can get full by Friday teatime, or even sooner. Arrive early Friday or phone ahead to enquire. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Great Langdale Campsite. We charge £1.00 per night to cover the cost of a poop scoop pack.
We are able to accept tents and camper vans (please note there is no hook up or chemical disposal facility. We take trailer tents, however we do not allow cars on the grass, so you may have to pull the trailer a short distance by hand). Sorry, we cannot accept caravans.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District about half a mile from Dungeon Ghyll and the magnificent waterfall, at the foot of the Langdale Pikes. It is quiet, secluded and beautifully wooded.
